70 Years in the Making
A boon is a benefit. Something that makes life genuinely better in a way you didn't know you were missing.
Ultrasonic cleaning technology has existed for over 70 years. It was developed in the 1950s and quickly adopted by industries that demand precision, jewelers restoring delicate pieces, watchmakers cleaning intricate movements, medical facilities sterilizing instruments, dental labs maintaining appliances. For decades it lived behind the counter, in the back room, in the lab. Professional-grade results that most people never had access to at home.
SonicBoon changes that. We took the same technology trusted by professionals for generations and built it into a clean, simple device that fits on your counter and works in minutes. No harsh chemicals. No scrubbing. No learning curve.
Just 45,000 ultrasonic waves per second doing the work for you.
That's the boon.
Clean What You Carry
-
Jewelry
Lotions, skin oils, and soap residue build up in settings and under stones over time. Most people never clean their rings deeply enough by hand.
-
Eyeglasses
Your frames and lenses collect skin oils, dust, and bacteria every single day. A quick wipe doesn't cut it.
-
Watch Bracelets
Sweat and debris accumulate in every crevice of your metal watch bracelet. Most bracelets never get cleaned at all.
-
Dental Appliances
Bacteria and plaque build up on retainers, dentures, and aligners faster than on teeth. Daily brushing alone leaves residue behind.
-
Makeup Brushes
Dead skin cells, old product, and bacteria live in brush bristles after every use. Most people clean them far less often than they should.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I clean with SonicBoon?
SonicBoon is compatible with jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets), eyeglasses, watches and metal watch bands, retainers, dentures, AirPods cases, and small metal hardware. If the item is waterproof and fits in the tank, it's a good candidate.
Do I need a special cleaning solution?
No. Warm water alone is effective. For added cleaning power, 2-3 drops of dish soap can be added to the water. A 50/50 vinegar and water solution works well for mineral deposits. Specialized ultrasonic cleaning solutions are compatible but not required.
What are the time settings and which should I use?
SonicBoon offers 5 preset cycles: 90, 180, 300, 480, and 600 seconds. 300 seconds (5 minutes - 300 seconds) covers most everyday items including jewelry and glasses. Start at 90 seconds for delicate or plated pieces. Use 480-600 seconds for dentures or heavily soiled items.
What temperature water should I use?
Cool to lukewarm water is recommended. The ultrasonic action generates heat during operation, so starting with hot water is unnecessary and can reduce the unit's long-term reliability. Room temperature water is sufficient.
Should I use the basket or put items directly in the tank?
It depends on what you're cleaning. Use the basket for delicate, small, or plated items -- it prevents direct contact with the tank and protects softer pieces from scratching. For sturdy jewelry or heavily soiled items, placing them directly in the tank gives slightly stronger cleaning power, since the basket absorbs some of the ultrasonic energy.
Can I clean my watch in it?
Yes, with one important rule. Keep the watch face above the water line and only submerge the band or bracelet. This should only be done with water-resistant watches rated at 100 meters or more. Ultrasonic vibrations can damage internal components even on waterproof models, so we recommend erring on the side of caution with anything valuable.
Is there anything I shouldn't put in SonicBoon?
A few things to avoid: pearls, soft or brittle gemstones, items with glued settings, enameled jewelry, and non-waterproof electronics. For valuable or antique pieces, it's worth checking with your jeweler before cleaning -- better safe than sorry.
How do I clean the tank?
Wipe the tank with a damp cloth after each use. For deeper cleaning, liquid dish soap and water does the job. Any surface oxidation or residue buildup can be removed with a soft scrubbing pad -- it's cosmetic only and won't affect performance.
How long does it take to see results?
One cycle. Most items come out visibly cleaner after just 3-5 minutes. Jewelry that looked dull often comes out noticeably brighter, and glasses or retainers that felt grimy are clean and clear. Back to back cycles are fine if something needs a deeper clean. No soaking, no scrubbing, no waiting.
Is it safe to use every day?
Yes, for most items. Many customers use SonicBoon daily for retainers, dentures, and glasses with no issues over extended periods. Just use cool to lukewarm water, avoid running cycles back to back without a short cool-down, and wipe the tank after each use. Treat it well and it holds up.
